All handcrafted in the tradition of The Oregon Wood Worker(r), is made of all solid hardwood and all pieces hand sanded to an ultra smooth surface. Industrial strength ball bearing turning system makes this Yarn Ball Holder the sturdiest available. The regular hardwood is either hickory or maple with corresponding hardwood post. Special hardwood ball/cone holders come in Cherry, Walnut, Padauk and Purple Heart. The corresponding post also comes in the same special hardwood. They are beautiful. There is a small up charge to help cover the extra cost of the special hardwood.

The Huggy Bear(tm) Yarn Ball/Cone Holder comes with a Long Removable Center Post which will handle all different weights of yarn beautifully.

Includes a colorful cotton-poly bag with a cord lock pull string which makes storage easy and transport easy so you can take it wherever you need to use it.

Use the Huggy Bear, to softly hug your yarn ball as you knit or unravel a difficult yarn ball. Use it also to hold your yarn cones for blending and other needs. Holds large and small cones. As you pull the yarn from it, it turns very easily on a smooth lazy-susan turning system.

‟This yarn holder exceeded all my expectations. Its 1.1 lbs (501 gms) weight alone is impressive. With the little rubber feet stuck on the bottom, it won't be moving around very much when in use. The whole holder is made with solid hardwood. You can see quality in the finish. The 4.75" (12 cm) turntable is firmly secured to the base with a ball bearing swivel plate. It spins smoothly and with little effort. The removable, 8" (20 cm) spindle screws into the turntable easily and firmly. With the spindle being removable, it's a great convenience when you want to take the yarn holder on a trip. You don't have to worry about the spindle breaking off. This yarn holder comes with a decorative fabric carrying bag, which helps to protect it from scratches. I have a few light weight, plain yarn holders. They now pale in comparison to this one. ”
