"This yarn holder exceeded all my expectations.
Its 1.1 lbs (501 gms) weight alone is impressive. With the little rubber feet stuck on the bottom, it won't be moving around very much when in use. The whole holder is made with solid hardwood. You can see quality in the finish.
The 4.75" (12 cm) turntable is firmly secured to the base with a ball bearing swivel plate. It spins smoothly and with little effort. The removable, 8" (20 cm) spindle screws into the turntable easily and firmly. With the spindle being removable, it's a great convenience when you want to take the yarn holder on a trip. You don't have to worry about the spindle breaking off.
This yarn holder comes with a decorative fabric carrying bag, which helps to protect it from scratches.
I have a few light weight, plain yarn holders. They now pale in comparison to this one.
